Prioritising applications

The Homeseeker Service uses a banding system to prioritise applications.
Applicants are banded according to the urgency of their housing needs.

The table below briefly sets out the banding system and gives some examples of  applicants who would be eligible to be placed in each band. Further details of the banding system and application process can be found within the Homeseeker policy.

High Priority

Urgent medical need

Under occupation of partnership tenancy

Supported Housing tenant ready for move on

Statutorily Overcrowded

Applicants owed a full S75 homeless duty under Housing Wales Act 2014

Disrepair (Category 1 Hazard)

Leaving Armed Forces

Financial hardship

Two silver band priorities

Silver Band

Moderate Priority

Lacking bedrooms

Non-urgent medical need

Homeless/Threatened with Homelessness

Living in a flat above ground floor with children under 6

Bronze Band

Low Priority

Owner occupiers

Applications who are currently suitability housed
