The Homeseeker Service uses a banding system to prioritise applications.
Applicants are banded according to the urgency of their housing needs.
The table below briefly sets out the banding system and gives some examples of applicants who would be eligible to be placed in each band. Further details of the banding system and application process can be found within the Homeseeker policy.

Priority banding will be assessed by the Homeseeker Team.
Platinum Band High Priority |
Urgent priority for existing tenants of Homeseeker partner landlords who are affected by the bedroom tax and are facing financial hardship. |
Gold Band High Priority |
Urgent medical need Under occupation of partnership tenancy Supported Housing tenant ready for move on Statutorily Overcrowded Disrepair (Category 1 Hazard) Leaving Armed Forces Financial hardship Two silver band priorities |
Homeless Band High Priority |
Applicants owed a full homeless duty under Housing Wales Act 2014 |
Silver Band Moderate Priority |
Joint application with friend/relative in order to house share Lodging/Shared facilities Relationship breakdown with spouse/partner Lacking bedrooms Non-urgent medical need Homeless/Threatened with Homelessness Living in a flat above ground floor with children under 10 |
Bronze Band Low Priority |
Owner occupiers Applications who are currently suitability housed |
